Before your mind starts wondering…I’m talking about the battles in your classroom. I’m talking about your classroom management. It is spring and if your campus is anything like mine and all the other schools across the nation, student behavior is/has started to shift.
This isn’t anything new but…what do you do with the changes? Do you strong-arm the child with your words or God forbid with your hands? Are you passive and just let things be? Do you send for the administrator, counselor, or anyone who will relieve you? Do you reinforce what you’ve already established?
The truth is…teacher behavior is/has shifted too. Let me be clear. STUDENTS have a responsibility…it is NOT all on YOU. Many of the battles in the classroom can be remedied if we check our perceptions.
Ask yourself these 3 simple questions…Is it a mountain or molehill? Am I operating from an emotionally unhealthy place? Or, do I have a serious management problem.
If you are nodding your head yes, trust me you’re not the only one. BUT…here is some good news. I’d be happy to work on a plan to help you get to the finish line.
Just imagine what it would be like! How would it make you feel? You can have the classroom you’ve always dreamed of.
